MISSION OF THE GARFIELD HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION
To gather the hearty support of all of its constituencies,
and provide Garfield High School with sustainable funding and resources
that will assure and advance student achievement and school programs.

We envision Garfield High School, an outstanding learning environment historically rich in cultural diversity and
academic excellence, achieving the best results for every single student.

 OUR VISION
The Garfield Foundation will build and perpetuate a legacy of
excellence in all areas of the school through the establishment
of an endowment fund.
We believe that all children deserve a quality education.
Building this fund will enrich the school and community,
in addition to creating a plan for excellence that outlasts any individual program or administration.
It will be directed by an independent Foundation board and financially administered by the
	Alliance for Education.

 THE GHS FOUNDATION HONORS
 Gary Gayton '51 & Carver Gayton '56
Join us in honoring Gary and Carver Gayton, Garfield Golden Grads,
civic leaders from a pioneering family who have contributed to the betterment of our community.
Excelling in the fields of athletics, education, law, political science and human resources,
each of these brothers has achieved a number of "firsts" and served in a variety of capacities
to further fairness, equity, justice and economic opportunity.

 BUILDING FOR GARFIELD'S FUTURE
The Foundation was established in 2002 to provide sustainable funding and support
for Garfield High School programs and cutting-edge curriculum.
On this special evening guests will be asked to support current and future academic
programs at Garfield.

Tonight we have special offer from the Stack Foundation.
Trudy Wood Stack '33 and her husband Harold have supported school programs
and student scholarships for Garfield and Roosevelt High School students over the years.
Tonight they offer to match every contribution over $500 with a maximum donation of $12,500.

They are not able to join us tonight but they wish to challenge each of you to think about
the impact your contribution can make on the lives of current and future Garfield students.
